This project, implemented by the Western Cape Economic Development Partnership and other partners, was focused on developing and applying a Just Transition framework in Mpumalanga. The aim was to support local communities, industries, and governments in navigating the shift from coal-dependent economies to more sustainable alternatives. By partnering with stakeholders, the project facilitated dialogue and planning for an equitable energy transition. It emphasized collaborative approaches to ensure that no one is left behind in the transition process. The project was completed in December 2023, contributing significantly to the implementation of just transition strategies in the region.
